In the thrilling labyrinth of Red (2021), Siddharth, a jovial civil engineer, relishes his love-filled life with his girlfriend, Mahima, unbeknownst to his uncanny resemblance to Aditya, a down-on-his-luck gambler burdened by financial woes. Their parallel lives intersect on a fateful rain-soaked night when a house is broken into and its owner brutally killed, a crime for which the unsuspecting Siddharth is apprehended due to damning pictorial evidence left at the scene.
Enter tenacious Sub-inspector Yamini, who is handed the case by the stern circle inspector Sampath, nursing a personal vendetta against Siddharth. He is hell-bent on pinning the murder on the unsuspecting engineer. As the investigation unfolds, the plot thickens with the unexpected introduction of Aditya, nabbed for drunk driving and eerily resembling the accused.
With the court's clock ticking ominously, the police force grapple with the 48-hour deadline to unmask the true perpetrator. The challenge is amplified by the necessity to keep Siddharth and Aditya apart, lest their meeting triggers an unforeseen chain of events.
