Plot

In the hauntingly beautiful landscapes of Norway, we meet Sigurd Svendsen, a dedicated archaeologist consumed by the enigmatic Norse mythology of Ragnarok, a passion he once shared with his dearly departed wife. Now a single father, Sigurd raises his two children, Ragnhild and Brage, while struggling to secure funding for his research based on ancient runes discovered in the historical Oseberg ship. His scholarly pursuits are met with skepticism, leaving his project on the brink of collapse. In the midst of these trials, Sigurd crosses paths with his old colleague Allan, another scholar fascinated by Ragnarok. The two of them, driven by their shared obsession, decide to embark on a daring expedition into the unknown. Joining them are the intrepid archaeologist Elisabeth and Sigurd's children, who are eager for adventure during their vacation. Their quest leads them to the breathtaking yet forbidding terrains of Finnmark, the northernmost part of Norway, a region so remote and untouched it's known as "No man's land." Nestled between Norway and Russia, this place untouched by modern times holds secrets waiting to be discovered. Guided by the enigmatic Leif, their journey takes them across a serene lake on a rustic raft and into a hidden cave brimming with historic relics. But as the night descends, tensions rise. Leif's treachery leaves them stranded and their precious findings stolen. As Elisabeth huddles with the children in a makeshift shelter, Sigurd and Allan delve deeper into the cave, their curiosity unwavering. Soon, they uncover a shattering revelation. The runes they've been studying are not mere symbols; they are a dire warning. The true meaning of Ragnarok unravels, unveiling a truth far grander and more terrifying than they could ever have imagined. The end of the world, as prophesied in Northern mythology, might be closer than they think, and they've stepped right into the heart of it.
