Plot

In the aftermath of India's liberation from British rule in 1947, the sun-kissed landscapes of Goa remain under the iron grip of the Portuguese. The whispers of liberation echo through the palm-fringed streets, carried by a band of audacious revolutionaries, including Purandare, Narvekar, and Dinanath. Their hearts are aflame with the desire for a free Goa, a passion that places them squarely in the crosshairs of the relentless Portuguese administration. When Dinanath's hideout is exposed, he flees into the night with his young son, Ramdas, towards the sanctuary of their secret refuge. With Purandare's assistance, they manage to evade the clutches of the authorities, but not without paying a heavy price. Ramdas is forced to witness his father's life being snuffed out - a bullet from Purandare's gun marking the tragic end. This horrific sight ignites in Ramdas a deep-seated hatred for the revolutionaries. Shaking off the dust of his past, Ramdas reemerges as Ronnie. He forms an unlikely alliance with a spirited girl named Julie and embarks on a life of crime, ironically flourishing in the underbelly of society. His prosperity trickles down to the villagers, creating a veneer of harmony. However, when the local Police Commissioner is brutally assassinated, Ronnie assists the authorities in capturing the murderer - a young revolutionary named Shekhar. Shekhar is swiftly subjected to the merciless grind of the legal system and is condemned to hang for his crime. It is at this precipice that Ronnie is confronted by a shocking revelation. The very villagers he had helped, now rally behind the revolutionaries, their sympathies lying with Shekhar. Infuriated and feeling betrayed, Ronnie seizes a gun, intent on executing Shekhar's parents. But as he confronts them, he uncovers a chilling truth about their identities and the real reason behind his father's death at the hands of Purandare. The film "Pukar" is a gripping tale of revolution, betrayal, and personal vendettas, where the line between friends and foes blur, leaving Ronnie at a crossroads - a choice between vengeance and redemption. Will he choose the path of violence, or will the truth lead him to align with the very revolutionaries he despises? Embark on this riveting journey to discover where Ronnie's allegiance truly lies.
