Prison Break (1938)

Joaquin Shannon, a hardy fisherman, sets foot on familiar soil after a long voyage at sea, anticipating nothing but familial joy as his first mate, Charles Nelson, is set to marry his sister on the morrow. However, destiny takes a sharp turn when Nelson, intoxicated and stumbling, is discovered alongside the unconscious body of a man Shannon had previously tangled with. As the man breathes his last, Shannon steps forward, bearing the weight of a crime he didn't commit out of loyalty to his friend. In the grim confines of prison, Shannon finds himself thrown into a world of violence and treachery, the puppeteer being none other than the formidable "Big Red" Kincaid. Despite the odds, Shannon remains undeterred, his spirit unbroken, vowing to maintain his innocence and earn his parole. His resolve is tested when he quells a prison uprising, a move that finally earns him his ticket to freedom. Yet, life outside the prison walls proves no less challenging. Unable to find honest work, Shannon finds solace in familiar territory, aboard a fishing vessel alongside another ex-convict. But the past is not done with him. The ruthless Kincaid, now a fugitive after a violent escape, has Shannon in his crosshairs, igniting a dangerous game of cat and mouse. As the waves crash and tension mounts, will Shannon be able to weather the storm that's coming for him?
