Plot

In the glittering whirl of New York City, we find a discontented Princess Maria, yearning for excitement beyond royal duties and expectations. Her uncle, in a bid to lift her spirits, suggests a few days of respite in the vibrant city of San Francisco. However, the Princess is haunted by a deep-seated fear of flying. To soothe her nerves, she takes a sleeping pill before the flight, unaware that the well-meaning flight crew - sensing her distress - have also slipped her sedatives. The cocktail of pills sends her into a deep slumber, oblivious to the stormy weather forcing the plane back to New York. Stranded in the city she tried to escape, the snoozing princess is entrusted to the care of the dashing pilot, Edward O'Rourke. He takes her to his apartment for the night, sparking the beginning of a remarkable adventure. Maria awakens to an intriguing note from O'Rourke, inviting her to meet him after work. Seizing the chance to experience life beyond the palace walls, she slips away for a rendezvous with him. To protect her royal identity, Maria weaves a tale of a European waif journeying to San Francisco to work as a maid. She immerses herself in the charade, savouring the thrill of ordinary life. But as sparks fly and emotions intensify, O'Rourke proposes marriage, leaving Maria caught between her new-found freedom and the royal duties she cannot escape. This charming tale of love, identity, and the pursuit of happiness is a whirlwind of emotions as we follow a princess navigating the labyrinth of the heart and the demands of her royal lineage.
