Priceless (2006)

Basking in the opulence of Biarritz, Irene celebrates her birthday, accompanied by her aging benefactor. Amidst the revelry, when her companion succumbs to slumber, she descends to the hotel bar, where she encounters Jean, the barman. She naively takes him for a wealthy patron, a misunderstanding which Jean playfully fuels, leading her to the grandeur of the Royal Suite for the evening. The narrative fast-forwards a year, where history repeats itself, only this time, her lover discovers the truth and casts her aside. Despite learning that Jean is a humble barman of modest means, Irene persists in her extravagant lifestyle until Jean's resources end up depleted. Soon enough, Jean finds himself entangled in Irene's world, crossing paths with the seasoned and worldly-wise Madeleine. As Irene embarks on a new affair, her connection with Jean deepens, drawing them into a labyrinth of emotions and loyalties. Their lives, intertwined in unexpected ways, paint a colorful and complex picture of love, deceit, and opulence. This is a tale of relationships that teeter on the edge of convention, where the lines between deception and truth, wealth and want, are blurred and redrawn.
