Plot

Under the shroud of a stormy night, Ilangkumaran, known as Kumaran (Sasikumar), and his companion Nallavan (Allari Naresh) escape from an undisclosed past, finding refuge in the bustling metropolis of Chennai. They make their humble abode at the residence of their friend, the affable Pulikutty (Ganja Karuppu), and secure employment at a local petrol bunk. Kumaran, with his heart of gold and unwavering integrity, quickly earns the respect and admiration of those around him, including the initially skeptical Bharathi (Swathi), a neighboring movie dancer. Misunderstandings are swept away as Bharathi discovers the true character of Kumaran, and a tender love story begins to unfurl between them. Simultaneously, Nallavan finds himself drawn to their co-worker, the enchanting Tamilarasi (Nivetha). As their friendships deepen and their small venture begins to flourish, Pulikutty excitedly advertises their success in a local magazine, unknowingly setting a ticking time bomb into motion. The tranquility of their new life is soon disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious group, relentlessly pursuing Kumaran and his friends. The sudden appearance of Soori, an old friend of Kumaran, further intensifies the unfolding drama, bringing with him unsettling news from their past. The second half of the plot peels back the layers of Kumaran's previous life, revealing a tormented soul, mentally scarred by the ruthless greed of his father and stepmother. As the mystery unravels, the film plunges into a whirlpool of thrilling twists and turns, culminating in an unexpected climax. The journey of Poraali is thus a riveting tale of resilience, friendship, and love, intertwined with a haunting past that threatens to shatter their dreams.
