Plot

Dr. Noah Praetorius, portrayed by Cary Grant, is a man of many talents - a renowned gynaecologist, a respected university professor, and a passionate conductor of the student symphony orchestra. His charismatic persona and unique approach to medicine, a blend of faith and science, have placed him on a pedestal of genius, but his success has also made him a target. His life takes an intriguing turn when he meets Deborah Higgins, a lovely student nurse played by Jeanne Crain. Deborah falls ill during one of Noah's classes and subsequently, under his tender care, falls deeply in love with him. Plagued by a secret pregnancy, the despairing Deborah teeters on the edge of life and death. Unbeknownst to Noah, he too is falling for Deborah and, in an act of love, helps her navigate through her crisis. But this act of compassion stirs the pot of envy among his peers, particularly the spiteful Professor Rodney Elwell, embodied by Hume Cronyn. Elwell's disdain for Noah's unorthodox medical views fuels a ruthless witch hunt, further complicated by the mysterious presence of Mr. Shunderson, Noah's quiet yet ever-present companion. Amidst the whirlwind of professional envy, personal drama and a looming scandal, Noah must find a way to protect his reputation, preserve his unique approach towards healing, and safeguard his newfound love. "People Will Talk" is a compelling blend of drama, romance and mystery, where life's priorities are challenged, and the power of love and faith is put to the ultimate test.
