Plot

Returning to the windswept shores of Brest after a five-year absence, Colin is confronted with the chilling reality of his past actions. An erstwhile petty theft, a seemingly insignificant transgression, has set off a chain of events that led to the unfortunate institutionalization of his beloved grandmother, Manou. Unbeknownst to him, his opportunistic parents capitalized on his crime to seize her wealth, leaving the old woman to wither away in a home. As Christmas descends upon the town, cloaking it in a deceptive veil of joy, Colin braves a family reunion. Amidst the festivity, he drops a bombshell - he has penned a novel, one that is on the brink of publication. The narrative, soaked in raw honesty, is a portrayal of his parents, a mirror reflecting their conniving ventures. Simultaneously, we see the story from the perspective of Kevin, a character shrouded in enigma. He observes Colin in silence, his eyes hinting at a knowing smile. He is aware of Colin's ambitions - a novel about his family, a relationship with Elise, and an unquenchable thirst to escape to the bustling streets of Paris. However, the chains of financial constraints bind him, and his grandmother, Manou, is not ready to loosen her purse strings. Paris-Brest is thus a riveting tale of familial bonds and betrayals, of dreams nurtured amidst deception, and of the lengths one may go to secure a better future. It is a poignant exploration of the human condition, where ambition, desire, and love intertwine in a complex dance with greed and manipulation.
