In the pulsating heart of London, seasoned MI5 officer Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) finds himself entwined in a labyrinth of deceit and moral complexities. The file uncovers a sinister network of unlawful prisons spread globally, operated by the CIA with the damning knowledge and tacit approval of Prime Minister Alec Beasley (Ralph Fiennes). The Prime Minister's chilling ultimatum to Worricker: return the incriminating evidence within twelve hours or face dire consequences.
As the clock ticks, Worricker finds an unexpected ally in his enigmatic neighbour and political activist, Nancy Pierpan (Rachel Weisz). Their seemingly chance encounter sparks a clandestine alliance, casting shadows of doubt on the authenticity of their relationship.
