Plot

Once a Thief follows the turbulent life of Eddie Pedak, a former convict turned family man, in the vivid backdrop of San Francisco. Six years free from the shackles of prison, Eddie's past is an armed robbery in league with a notorious gang led by his brother, Walter Pedak. Now living on the straight and narrow, his life revolves around his wife Kristine, their young daughter, Kathy, and his dream of owning a fishing boat. But the shadow of Eddie's past refuses to fade. His life is under the relentless scrutiny of Police Inspector Mike Vido, an individual convinced that Eddie's reform is a façade. Vido harbors a personal vendetta, believing Eddie was the unseen assailant who once shot him during a robbery, and the recent suspect in a lethal grocery store heist. This relentless pursuit strains Eddie's efforts to maintain a steady job and a peaceful life. The echoes of Eddie's past grow louder when Walter and his gang re-emerge, breaching the conditions of Eddie's parole. Walter's tempting offer is a million-dollar heist, a last dance with danger promising a swift end to all of Eddie's financial woes. This resurgence of his old life puts a strain on Eddie's relationship with Kristine, leading them both to question their future. As accusations and past alliances threaten to capsize Eddie's new life, he and Kristine must navigate the treacherous waters of their circumstances. They are forced to make decisions that will either anchor them in a life of normalcy or drag them back into the whirlpool of crime. Once a Thief is a riveting tale of redemption, loyalty, and the persistent echoes of the past, blurring the line between right and wrong.
