Plot

In the heart of Greensboro, North Carolina, on a chilly Thanksgiving Night in 1983, history was etched in the annals of pro wrestling. This was the birth of the first "supercard," an extraordinary spectacle that brought together some of the biggest names of the wrestling world. In the electrifying main event, Harley Race, the reigning NWA World heavyweight champion, defended his title within the confining bars of a steel cage against the charismatic "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. The tension was palpable as former champ "Big Thunder" Gene Kiniski presided as the special guest referee. The night was teeming with more thrilling matches. Jack & Jerry Brisco placed their 'NWA' World tag team championship on the line against former titleholders Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood, while the audacious Greg Valentine, the then-U.S. champ, went head-to-head with Rowdy Roddy Piper in a non-title dog collar match. The enigmatic Charlie Brown From Outta Town, under the disguise of Jimmy Valiant, issued a challenge to The Great Kabuki for the prestigious 'NWA' television championship. The dynamic duo of Dick Slater & Cowboy Bob Orton faced off Wahoo McDaniel & Mark Youngblood. And in a clash of titans, Carlos Colon locked horns with Abdullah the Butcher. Adding further to the vigor of the night, Kevin Sullivan & Mark Lewin squared off against Johnny Weaver & Scott McGhee. To top it all, The Assassins wrestled with the formidable pair of Bugsy McGraw & Rufus R. "Freight Train" Jones. NWA Starrcade 1983, a monumental event that marked the beginning of a new era in pro wrestling, weaving a tale of strength, determination, and unforgettable rivalries.
