Not My Day (2014)

In the quaint town of Osthofen, Till Reiners, a man in his mid-30s, finds himself trapped in the humdrum of an everyday life. Working as a bank teller for almost a decade and a half at Osthofen Mutual Bank, his life is as predictable as the tick of a clock. His marriage to Miriam, an ambitious purse designer, is a picture of long-standing harmony, potentially bordering on monotony. Amidst all this, the only spark of unpredictability is when his adorable four-year-old son loses his cherished snuggle bunny. In an unexpected twist, Till's life takes a wild detour when Nappo, a newly-released convict with a grudge, storms into his bank. As fate would have it, Nappo had been denied a loan by Till just days before. With his getaway vehicle out of commission, the ex-con takes Till hostage, and a peculiar journey of chaos and camaraderie begins. As law enforcement barricades the city and Miriam anxiously awaits any news of her husband, Nappo plans to ditch Till and vanish with his spoils. However, things don't go as planned. Nappo and Till find themselves bound together, fleeing from the law. A telephone misunderstanding leaves Till believing his wife has abandoned him emotionally, pushing him further into the reckless world of his captor. The unlikely pair even bond over their shared love for the hard rock band, "Donar." Surprisingly, Till begins to enjoy the adrenaline-fueled escapades and the liberating taste of his outlaw life. His banking acumen proves beneficial, helping Nappo score a lucrative deal that takes them across the border to Holland. However, back at home, the police have started considering Till as a possible accomplice in the heist. Refusing to believe the worst, Miriam embarks on a solo mission to Amsterdam, hoping to rescue her husband. Little does she know, her life is now in danger due to the shady deal orchestrated by Till. As reality strikes, Till realizes that his old, regular life wasn't as dull as he initially thought. In a dramatic climax, he must risk everything to save his wife and reclaim the life he took for granted.
