Ninety Degrees in the Shade (1965)

In Prague, Alena Winter, the meticulous and respected assistant manager of a local grocery shop, not only is she managing to have an affair with the store's manager--the married family man, Mr Vorell--but also she is successfully covering up for his misconduct. However, things will soon get complicated, when a typical, yet rigorous check on the branch's registry and inventory led by the thorough maths-lover auditor, Mr Kurka, leads--not surprisingly--to strange and suspicious occurrences. Under those circumstances and for fear of getting caught, Alena and Vorell will go on a desperate night-drive all over the town's liquor stores, in an attempt to cover up any irregularities in the shop; nevertheless, Alena's secret is already unbearable. For the most part, theirs was a perfect plan, but is there an escape from Kurka's ever-watchful eye?
