Narc (2002)

In the shadowy recesses of Detroit's underbelly, an undercover narcotics officer meets his end, and the investigation hits a brick wall. The city's desperate police department calls upon the once-disgraced Nick Tellis, ousted 18 months prior when a bullet from his gun tragically struck a pregnant woman. Tellis is partnered with Henry Oak, a fierce and relentless cop with a personal connection to the deceased officer and a knack for attracting the watchful eyes of internal affairs. As they navigate a maze of leads, their informants end up dead, stirring up a whirlwind of danger and uncertainty. Back home, Nick's wife grapples with the fear of her husband returning to the perilous streets, while Henry fiercely guards the grieving widow of his fallen comrade. Amid the chaos, Nick finds himself obsessively pouring over the case file and grappling with Oak's brutish methodology, at times reluctantly succumbing to it. With the higher-ups eager to put the case to bed, Nick and Henry doggedly persist, and their persistence nudges them closer to an auto body shop. But the truth proves elusive and shrouded in layers of deception. Will Nick ever unearth what truly transpired? The answer lies buried in the gritty heart of Narc.
