Plot
Exhausted by the relentless pace of city life, Hae-guk (PARK Hae-il) receives a cryptic call about the death of his estranged father, YOO Mok-hyung (HUH Jun-ho). The news is a bewildering shock as Hae-guk hasn't spoken to his father in over two decades. Compelled by a mix of curiosity and longing, he journeys to the remote village where his father lived.
Upon arrival, the villagers meet him with a guarded unease that hangs heavy in the air. Despite their apparent discomfort and clear attempts to rush him back to Seoul, Hae-guk resists, declaring his intention to remain in the village. His announcement is met with a flurry of covert glances and the villagers, under the command of the enigmatic Chief CHUN Yong-duk (JUNG Jae-young), begin to act strangely around him.
At first glance, the Chief is an unassuming elderly man, but beneath the surface, he exudes a frightening charisma. He appears omniscient, commanding the villagers' obedience and reverence like a deity. As Hae-guk delves deeper into the village's routines, he grows increasingly suspicious of its inhabitants and the Chief's unnerving influence over them.
"Moss" is a rich tapestry of suspense and mystery that unravels over a hauntingly atmospheric 2 hours and 40 minutes. As the veil slowly lifts, Hae-guk is led on a thrilling journey into the past of his father and the chilling truth behind his connection to the village's threatening locals. Prepare to be transported into a world of intrigue and tension, where the past intertwines with the present, and nothing is as it seems.
