Cole Young has found success as an MMA fighter, but the Mortal Kombat tournament taking place in the alien realm of Outworld belongs in a whole other stratosphere of challenge. It's at the Mortal Kombat tournament that the future of Earth and all the other realms are decided, but evil Emperor Shang Tsung has grown impatient and has begun killing fighters from Earth who could pose a threat to him. Cole will find himself in the sights of the sorcerer — and in the process of surviving, he'll make a whole new group of martial allies and learn about his own enigmatic past.
