In the sultry, rain-drenched American Samoa, an unexpected arrival sets the military outpost on fire. The flamboyant Sadie Thompson, a woman with a past as colorful as her personality, is stranded due to a ship quarantine, turning her brief two-hour stopover into an impromptu week-long stay.
