Plot

In the quiet, unsuspecting town of Ontario, Mean Dreams weaves a thrilling tale of young love, desperate courage, and relentless pursuit. Teenage farm boy Jonas Ford's life becomes intertwined with his new next-door neighbor, Casey Caraway, the daughter of the town's freshly transferred Police Sergeant, Wayne Caraway. As the two adolescents discover a shared bond, they find solace from their respective struggles - Jonas, from the grueling demands of farm life, and Casey, from the cruel torment of her alcoholic and abusive father. However, the tranquility is short-lived as the violent nature of Sergeant Wayne rears its ugly head. A fatal triple homicide involving a drug deal gone awry pulls Jonas into a chilling vortex of crime and danger. Armed with his newfound courage and a stolen bag full of drug money, Jonas decides to protect Casey from her father’s wrath and together, they flee their hometown for the autumn-kissed backwoods of Ontario. This coming-of-age saga captures the fragile beauty of first love, juxtaposed with the harsh realities of life on the lam. With his daughter missing and almost a million dollars he killed for gone, Wayne Caraway, a corrupt cop single-mindedly tracks the young couple. As the naive runaways leave a trail of bread crumbs behind them, the question becomes: Can their youthful ingenuity outwit the relentless pursuit of a seasoned Sergeant? Mean Dreams presents a captivating blend of tender romance and breathless suspense, enticing viewers into a world where innocence confronts the face of corruption.
