Plot

In the vibrant tapestry of 1960s New York City dance history, an aging yet charismatic Juilliard dance professor, Tobi Powell (Sir Patrick Stewart), becomes the focal point. A couple, composed of a dedicated dissertation writer and her intriguing husband (Carla Gugino and Matthew Lillard), seek him out, ostensibly to mine his rich, international past for her scholarly work. As the narrative pirouettes between the trio, the dance of conversation intensifies, revealing an underlying rhythm of hidden intentions. With each passing question and revelation, the line between truth and belief blurs, crafting a compelling narrative about not just the responsibility and commitment intrinsic to artistry, but also the intricate choreography of love. As the interview unfolds, the couple's ulterior motives surface, transforming the encounter into a crescendo of explosive disclosures. "Match" is a poignant exploration of past and present, a story that twirls on the edge of deception, and a dance where every step holds a secret.
