Plot
In the heart of the Algerian countryside, amongst the rustic charm and simple living, resides the vivacious Mounir Mekbek with his family. Mounir, a man of immense pride and self-assuredness, has a singular aspiration - to earn the admiration and respect of his fellow villagers. However, his image of self-importance is constantly tarnished by his sister, Rym, a strong-willed, narcoleptic maiden who falls asleep unpredictably and is the village's favorite spinster-to-be.
One whimsical night, Mounir, intoxicated by the spirits of the town, declares that he has found a suitable match for Rym. His drunken fabrication spirals uncontrollably, transforming the supposed suitor into a wealthy, blonde Australian. As the intriguing rumor permeates the village, preparations for an extravagant wedding commence in full swing, despite the conspicuous absence of the mythical bridegroom. The plot beautifully weaves together the simplicity of rural life and the complexity of human desires, spinning a tale that is as captivating as it is unique.
