In the once tranquil frontier settlement of Sheridan, a pervasive air of unease has replaced peace. It's a town under the shadow of fear, held hostage by the ruthless cattle baron, Dade Holman, and his murderous henchmen. As the townsfolk cower, their hope dwindles, their resilience fades, and they find themselves desperate for a savior. This desperation leads them to Clint Tollinger, a laconic 'town tamer' whose reputation echoes ominously before him. For a fee of $500, they reluctantly entrust their fate to this stranger, who harbors not only the potential to liberate them but also a personal quest to find his estranged wife. His wife, as he discovers, is entwined in the town's struggles, running the local girls amidst the reign of terror. The sheriff, a figurehead crippled by his own fear, is no match for Holman's rowdy sidekicks who rule the town with an iron fist.
