In the sprawling world of affluence and luxury, resides the reckless Jessica 'Jessie' Montgomery, the pampered offspring of the benevolent billionaire Charles Montgomery. Known for his philanthropy and a heart as large as his bank account, Charles, in a desperate attempt to fill the void left by Jessie's absent mother, showers his daughter with every conceivable luxury money can buy. However, Jessie, devoid of character, spirals into a life of wild indulgence and scandalous extravagance, her latest debacle involving a high-speed drug-fueled drive that lands her in handcuffs.
Her antics lead her despairing father to a regretful wish - that he'd never had a daughter. This lament, unbeknownst to him, reaches the ears of a certain Stella Winton, Jessie's fairy godmother, who takes the wish to heart. With a wave of her wand, Stella erases Jessie's existence from the world she once knew, leaving her without a penny to her name and without a single friend to lean on.
Thrust into an unfamiliar reality, Jessie must now learn to survive. She finds herself in the employ of an eccentric couple, working as a maid in their grand mansion. Through humbling housework, strange companionship of the household staff, and an unexpected romance with a man named Nick, Jessie embarks on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Stripped of her former privilege, Jessie is faced with the challenge of becoming a better woman, learning life's most valuable lessons not from the excess of wealth, but from the dignity of earning her own living.
