Plot

Marla Watkins, an English teacher who has found her new home amidst the cultural labyrinth of Istanbul, finds her life taking an unexpected twist when she discovers she's pregnant. Formerly wedded to a charismatic Iranian artist, their love story has recently reached its final chapter, leaving Marla alone in a posh corner of the city. As she embraces the prospect of motherhood, a veil of darkness descends, casting ominous shadows over her future. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, the bustling streets of New York echo with the indomitable spirit of Olivia, a tenacious journalist and Marla's sister. Upon hearing news of Marla's pregnancy, she puts the city that never sleeps behind her, embarking on a journey to Turkey. As Olivia delves into the enigmatic world of her sister's life, the sinister undertones begin to emerge. The plot thickens with each revelation, pulling her deeper into a web of intrigue that started when Marla decided to keep the baby. In "Magi," the intertwining lives of two sisters form the heart of a gripping narrative, punctuated by the stark contrast of Istanbul's grandeur and the unsettling events that begin to unfold. It's a tale of familial ties, tested loyalties, and the haunting specter of the unknown, which looms large over every decision. The movie is a captivating blend of mystery and drama that promises to leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
