In the heart of Paris, the ruthless and tough-as-nails executive, Christine Rivière (Dame Kristin Scott Thomas), sits at the helm of a major French corporation. Hungry for success and recognition, her brilliant but emotionally vulnerable assistant, Isabelle Guérin (Ludivine Sagnier), proves her mettle when she's assigned to a high-stakes project in Cairo alongside the charismatic lawyer, Philippe Deschamps (Patrick Mille). Their professional triumph evolves into a personal fling, but the jubilation is short-lived.
