Local Hero (1983)

In the heart of Texas's bustling oil industry, billionaire Happer dispatches Mac, a zealous corporate executive, on a seemingly mundane mission to a remote Scottish hamlet. Tasked with buying out the town for a colossal oil refinery, Mac trades his Houston office and fax machines for the quaint charm of Scotland's rugged coastlines and an unexpected journey. Upon arrival, the village's eager inhabitants are entranced by the prospect of the 'Silver Dollar', welcoming the foreign executive with open arms, unable to believe their fortuitous circumstances.
