In the serene suburban landscape of Bel-Air, a young, modern couple, Alain and Bénédicte Getty, begin to settle into their new life. Alain, a talented automation engineer, is on the brink of revolutionizing technology with a groundbreaking prototype of a flying web-cam for the affluent corporation, Pollock S.A. Bénédicte, on the other hand, navigates the trials of unemployment, trying to find her place in this new environment.
Their relatively quiet existence is shattered when they invite Alain's stern boss, Richard Pollock and his enigmatic wife, Alice, over for dinner. Alice’s erratic behavior casts a shadow over the evening, punctuating the gathering with shocking rudeness and forcing a premature departure. The night takes an even stranger turn when Alain discovers a semi-conscious Scandinavian lemming, an oddity of nature, trapped in their kitchen sink.
Alice’s strange fascination with Alain continues as she visits him at his office under the guise of looking for her husband. She confesses her sinister desire for her husband's demise, citing past attempts on her life, and audaciously tries to seduce Alain. Though initially hesitant, Alain falls into her web of seduction, only to resist at the last moment.
Alice’s intrusion into the Getty’s life takes an even more bizarre turn when she visits their home, apologizing to Bénédicte for her earlier transgressions and revealing her near-tryst with Alain. Bénédicte, reeling from the revelation, allows Alice to rest in their spare bedroom, a decision that will set a harrowing course into motion. Alice’s sudden suicide within their home sends shockwaves through their lives, forever altering their reality.
Post this tragic event, Alain embarks on a profound inward journey, while Bénédicte begins to display unsettling changes in her behavior, as if possessed by Alice’s spirit. Their lives, once marked by normalcy, now echo with the haunting presence of Alice, and the mysterious lemming, leading them down a path of chilling uncertainty.
