Plot

In the heart of a quaint Mexican village, American expat Walter grapples with a life adrift. He's a stranger in a foreign land, struggling with a language he barely understands, an empty wallet, and a writer's block that's as relentless as the Mexican sun. His nights are spent in a dilapidated lakeside shed, wrestling with words that refuse to flow, while his days are punctuated by reluctant charity at a local tavern, where he nurses beers he can't afford. He's a man in limbo, yearning for salvation. An unlikely savior appears in the form of a mysterious man who pens epitaphs for the departed. The stranger presents Walter with a chilling proposition - to execute a local figure who has crossed his formidable boss, a shadowy businessman with a penchant for vengeance. The reward? A staggering $100,000. With a life hanging in the balance and a love interest he's too timid to approach, Walter finds himself on the precipice of a decision that could shatter his obscurity or cost him his life. Reluctantly, he agrees to the deadly assignment, realizing that refusal would put him squarely in the crosshairs of this brutal underworld. The assassination attempt, however, veers off course, culminating in a shocking betrayal as Walter is shot by his employers, who never intended to let their secret survive. Against all odds, Walter does survive, but as a crippled man fueled by a newfound purpose - revenge. Yet, as he embarks on his mission, fate has one more cruelly ironic twist waiting in the wings.
