Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (2010)

In the heart of Chittagong circa 1930, a group of young men find their daily game of football disrupted by British soldiers. Left without a ground to play on, they turn to Surjya Sen, a widowed schoolmaster and leader of a band of freedom fighters. With the nation observing Gandhi's decree of a violence-free year, Surjya bides his time, assembling a war chest of Rs.18000/-. He transforms this into the tools of rebellion—guns, vehicles, and bicycles—and welcomes two women, Pritilata and Kalpana Dutta, into his ranks. Their audacious plan: to stun the British forces by crippling telecommunications and transportation, liberating captured comrades, seizing weapons from the armoury, and taking British citizens hostage at the European Club. However, family obligations compel Pritilata and Kalpana to move to Calcutta, leaving Surjya undeterred and ready to execute the multilayered attack. The Good Friday holiday thwarts their hostage plan, and their raid only yields rifles, not the vital ammunition. Despite these setbacks, they manage to disrupt the British communications and transportation. But the British forces recover swiftly and mount a relentless pursuit to capture Surjya's band. Now, with scarce resources, minimal ammunition, and the absence of shelter, the question looms: How long can Surjya and his freedom fighters evade the dogged pursuit of the resolute British? In this gripping narrative of resistance, courage is tested, sacrifices are made, and the spirit of rebellion blazes bright.
