Plot

In the tapestry of Hinduism, the six sacred sanctuaries of Lord Muruga, the "Arupadaiveedu," serve as the backdrop for the film, "Kandhan Karunai." The narrative flows chronologically, unfolding the mystical tales that reside within each divine abode. Our journey begins in Swamimalai, where the young Lord Muruga, portrayed by Master Sridhar, imparts the profound significance of the sacred syllable 'OM' to his father, Lord Shiva, played by Gemini Ganesan. A dispute over a mystical fruit drives him to the serene Palani Hills, marking his second dwelling place. Lord Muruga's heroic triumph over the demon king Surapadman at Thiruchendur, his third sanctuary, captures hearts. As a token of gratitude for this victory, the celestial monarch, Lord Indra, bestows his daughter's hand in marriage to Lord Muruga, culminating in a heavenly union at Thirupparamkunram, the fourth divine abode. The narrative then unravels the tender love story between Lord Muruga and Valli in the tranquil setting of Thiruthani, his fifth abode. After a brief discord between his two wives, they find harmony in the lush greenery of Pazhamudircholai, his sixth and final sanctuary. The renowned Tamil poet, Nakkeerar, portrayed by Sirkazhi Govindarajan, brings these celestial tales to a close, summarizing the divine journey of Lord Muruga in the final scenes of the film. This sacred voyage paints a vivid portrait of spirituality, bravery, and love, enchanting viewers with its mythological charm.
