In the bustling heart of Bombay, two hopeful professional photographers, Sudhir Mishra and Vinod Chopra, open a studio in the esteemed Haji Ali region, dreaming of prosperity. After a series of initial missteps, they attract the attention of Shobha Singh, the formidable editor of "Khabardar," a magazine known for unmasking the scandal-ridden lives of the city's elite. Thrust into a whirlwind of intrigue and deception, Sudhir and Vinod find themselves entangled in a web spun by the city's corrupt real estate moguls.
Their first assignment, a seemingly mundane city-wide photography project for a contest, unwittingly plunges them into the underbelly of Bombay's real estate wars. In one of their photographs, they spot Tarneja, a notorious builder, brandishing a gun. A closer look reveals the shocking truth - Tarneja has murdered Municipal Commissioner D'Mello, leaving his body concealed behind a thicket of bushes.
As the duo races against time to expose Tarneja's crime, the body mysteriously vanishes, leaving them floundering. Undeterred, they press on, tracing the body to Tarneja's rival builder, Ahuja. Armed with incriminating photographs, they trustingly place their discovery in the hands of Shobha Singh, only to be entangled deeper in a web of blackmail and double-crossing.
Their efforts lead to an explosive climax set on a stage dramatization of the epic Mahabharat, which humorously morphs into the tragic love story of Salim and Anarkali. Amidst the confusion, the corpse becomes the star of the show, and the lines between heroes and villains blur in a comic frenzy.
