Jaagrti (1955)

In the opulent world of Ramapati Mukherjee, harmony is disrupted by the reckless actions of his nephew, Ajaykumar. A series of grievances from the local community regarding Ajaykumar's misconduct forces Ramapati to take drastic measures. Blaming Ajaykumar's mother for her indulgent parenting, he sends the defiant boy to a city hostel, hoping its stern environment will reform him. However, Ajaykumar's arrival in the hostel is marked by an uproar, with his fists doing the talking against fellow students. Unimpressed by the quality of food and pedagogical methods, he openly criticizes them, earning himself a harsh reprimand. This perceived humiliation fuels his rebellious spirit, leading him and his gang of merry pranksters to orchestrate a scheme that drives the rotund school superintendent to resignation. A new superintendent, Shekhar, steps into the chaotic scene, unaware of the storm that awaits him. The group of pranksters, led by the irrepressible Ajaykumar, are already plotting their next big trick, confident that Shekhar's tenure will be as short-lived as his predecessor's.
