Plot

Steeped in the quaint charm of Bad Trad, England, a generational war brews, echoing the discordant beats of the youth's preferred music - jazz. The town's mayor, the embodiment of old-world values, leads the charge against this perceived musical menace. His power culminates in an ordinance that demands a license for broadcasting such sonic disruption. However, not all are swayed by his traditionalist views. Teenagers Helen and Craig, champions of their generation, believe that the best way to refute the mayor's claims is to demonstrate the harmony of jazz by organising a music festival. Guided by an unseen narrator, they venture into the urban jungle, seeking a disc jockey who can help them assemble the finest jazz acts for their festival. Their quest, however, is far from a breezy tune. The city's music studios and live venues present challenges they didn't anticipate. As word of their audacious plan reaches the mayor, he employs every trick in his political playbook to thwart their efforts. Yet, Helen and Craig discover that they too can play the political game. In a world where rhythm and regulations clash, they find that the best note to strike might just be one of political savvy.
