Plot

In the heart of an ordinary family, a peculiar fantasy takes root. Annie, a loving mother of two, inexplicably fabricates an invisible third child, a creation veiled in mystery to her family and the audience alike. Her husband and eldest child, driven by fear of shattering their family's fragile unity, indulge in Annie's illusion, sustaining a narrative that teeters precariously between reality and delusion. Annie's youngest child, naively swept up in the family's charade, earnestly believes in the existence of an unseen older sister. This familial deception, however, begins to crack under the weight of its own complexity as the family invites a new character into their homespun tale—a nanny. As the newly hired nanny steps into this world of make-believe, the family's delicate balance is disrupted. Overwhelmed by the convoluted reality she has been thrust into, the nanny starts to unravel the family's carefully woven secrets. Her role becomes a catalyst, challenging Annie's attachment to her invisible child and inadvertently steering her towards a return—presumably—to a normal family existence. Invisible Child is a poignant exploration of a family's struggle to maintain a façade in the face of mental instability, and the unexpected ways in which healing can present itself. With its unique blend of drama and mystery, it invites the audience on a journey that straddles the fine line between the palpable and the unseen.
