Interview with a Hitman (2012)

In the gritty underbelly of Bucharest, Romania, Viktor, a man molded by hardship and loss, traces his life's journey to a curious filmmaker in England. Raised in the harsh outskirts of the city, Viktor's life was marred by violence from an early age, his father's debts to the mafia and the subsequent threat of enforcers forever casting a sinister shadow over his existence. With a grim determination, Viktor pursues a perilous path with the ruthless mobster Sergei, not to settle his father's debts, but to carve out a life of his own. His initiation into this world is bloody and cruel, ending with the murder of his own father by the mafia. Viktor soon becomes an instrument of death, honing his skills under Sergei's tutelage. His reputation as a cold-blooded assassin grows, and he finds himself working for the Romanian kingpin, Traficant. However, when a reckless act by Traficant's son Franco leaves another mafia lord's son dead, Viktor finds himself in the crosshairs. He outsmarts Sergei, fakes his own death, and escapes to the bustling city of London. In London, Viktor finds a new family amongst gangsters, rising through the ranks with his unbeatable blend of precision and ruthiness. But echoes of his past refuse to be silenced, and a chance encounter with Bethesda, a woman he saves from a horrific fate, offers him a glimmer of hope for a different life. As their bond deepens and a child enters the picture, Viktor contemplates leaving behind the life he was thrust into. But the past is not easily forgotten, and a deadly specter from his time in Romania emerges, threatening the life he's trying to build. As Viktor grapples with the ghosts of his past and the uncertainty of his future, the question remains: Can he ever truly escape the world he was born into, or will he be forever marked by his past deeds? The answer lies in a fateful meeting Bethesda wishes to arrange with the filmmaker. What could she possibly want, and what does the future hold for Viktor?
