In the aftermath of a devastating car accident while returning from her own art gallery exhibition, accomplished artist, Ali (Rohm), finds her world irrevocably altered. The tragic incident claims the lives of her beloved husband (Muldoon) and cherished child, and robs Ali of her sight. Thrust into the unfamiliar darkness, she is guided by her doctor's advice to hire a caretaker, Jeff (Page), to help her navigate her new life as a blind woman. Upon returning to her home, Jeff becomes an instrumental figure in her difficult adjustment process. With his help, she not only learns to adapt but also finds companionship in her new neighbor, Linda (Elizabeth). However, the seemingly tranquil resumption of her life is illusory. As Ali regains her independence and yearns for less assistance, Jeff's role transitions from a supportive aide to a possessive figure seething with jealousy. His once-beneficent demeanor morphs into a dangerous obsession, his protective shield cracks to reveal a violent undertow. The peaceful sanctuary that Ali's home once represented is now a chilling battlefield. Ali, determined to reclaim her life, is forced into a harrowing fight for survival. Relying solely on her remaining senses, she must confront the menacing threat lurking in the shadows.
