In the bustling, chaotic realm of lower-middle-class life, we meet Kumaravel (Vijay Sethupathy), a young man whose existence revolves around the inviting interiors of TASMAC bars. His appearance, as average as can be, earns him the nickname Sumaar Moonji Kumar from his friends and neighbors. He harbors an unrequited love for Kumudha (Nanditha), the enchanting girl who lives just a stone's throw away from his humble abode. Her father, desperate to thwart this one-sided infatuation, enlists the aid of Annachi (Pasupathi), a local strongman, to teach Kumar a lesson he won't forget.
