Plot

In the heart of winter, Ray Pelletier (Michael Rooker) seeks refuge from the world, retreating with his family to their cabin nestled beside a frozen, serene lake. Their solace is found with fishing rods in hand, ice crunching beneath their boots, casting their lines into the frost-kissed water. However, their tranquil retreat is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Steve Cote and his son, Stevie Jr., a brash pair from the big city with a portable fishing hut in tow and a knack for shattering the quiet with their raucous noise. Under the ice, a monstrous entity stirs, drawn to the surface by the cacophonous intruders. The icy depths hold more than fish, and as the creature emerges, it places everyone in peril. The serene winter haven transforms into a chilling battlefield, and the once peaceful ice fishing trip descends into a struggle for survival. Ray must swallow his resentment for the intrusive Cote duo. The two families, so different in their ways, are compelled to unite against the common enemy lurking beneath the ice. They shift from being the hunters to the hunted, as they attempt to outsmart and overpower the beast amongst them. The question remains - will they manage to ensnare the creature from the deep, or will they fall prey to its icy grip? With suspense lurking at every corner, Hypothermia promises a chilling adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat, questioning what really lies beneath the frozen surface of tranquil lakes.
