Plot

Once a high-flying financier, 34-year-old Susumu Nokoshi now drifts aimlessly as a homeless man, his life echoing the silent rhythms of Shinjuku park. His mundane existence is jolted when he crosses paths with Manabu Ito, an ambitious medical student seeking volunteers for a highly controversial surgical procedure called trepanation - a process that involves drilling a hole into the skull. Despite initial resistance, Susumu reluctantly agrees to the operation, lured by a payout of 700,000 yen. Post-surgery, a bizarre twist of fate gifts Susumu with an uncanny ability. When he shuts his right eye and peers through his left, he is confronted with an eerie vision - people around him morph into grotesquely distorted figures. Manabu explains this as a form of visualization that exposes the shadowy recesses of the human mind. With this newfound ability, Susumu finds himself plunged into a world where he can perceive and engage with the hidden darkness lurking within people's subconscious. As he navigates this surreal landscape, he is forced to confront the blurred lines between reality and the human psyche.
