Hitler (1996)

In the heart of Kerala, we find Madhavankutty (Mammootty), a wealthy man known locally as "Hitler" for his iron-fist rule and fiery temper, particularly aimed at the area's mischievous young men who dare to pursue his five younger sisters. His domineering exterior hides a deep love for his family, a love he struggles to express. Since their mother's tragic passing, it's been Madhavankutty at the helm, steering the family through life's rough waters. Their father, Pillechan (Innocent), has long since remarried, bearing two more children. His first brood, however, have been estranged from him, a rift for which their Uncle Gangadhara Menon holds the key. Marriage arrangements were underway for Madhavankutty and his cousin Gauriy (Shobana) to tie the knot, as well as for his sister, Ammu (Vani Viswanath), to wed Gauriy's brother, Balachandran (Mukesh). But this apparent harmony is shattered when Balachandran is caught trespassing into Madhavankutty's sanctuary in his absence, aiming to rendezvous with Ammu. This scandalous incident incites animosity between the two families, prompting Madhavankutty to oppose these inter-family marriages. Balachandran, however, remains determined to mend the rift and rekindle the matrimonial plans. The narrative follows the complex dynamics, hinting at a deeper tale of familial bonds, love, and the struggle to uphold honour in a rapidly changing society.
