Heroes Wanted (2016)

In the wake of a catastrophic bomb theft and the tragic loss of secret operatives striving to retrieve it, Minister Boyero breathes new life into a shadowy relic of Spanish history - the Cuerpo de Élite (Elite Corp.). This clandestine team, born amidst the turbulence of Spain's 70's Transition, is resurrected with an eclectic mix of agents plucked from the corners of the Spanish local police. The reformed Cuerpo de Élite comprises Santi, a nimble Madrid Mobility Agent; Lola, a stalwart of Andalusia's Civil Guard; Pep, Catalonia's Mosso d'Esquadra's finest; Gorka, a stalwart from Basque Country's Ertzaina, and Byron, a charismatic Ecuadorian immigrant and a proud member of the Spanish Legion, who insists on his birthright in Cuenca. Inheriting the unfinished crusade of their fallen predecessors, this motley crew must intercept an atomic bomb, ominously entwined with the infamous Palomares Broken Arrow incident of 1966, where four such devices rained down on Spain's coastline. This volatile artifact awaits recovery before it triggers a cataclysm. However, their mission teeters on the brink of collapse as friction within their ranks threatens to combust. Simultaneously, a mysterious woman emerges from the shadows, desperate to unveil the hidden truths of the Cuerpo de Élite to Santi. In the tumultuous world of subterfuge and atomic threats, will this newly-minted team manage to secure the deadly relic and bring the truth to light?
