Plot

Disenchanted by the pretentious, insular world of New York high society art, Nate sets off to find a raw, unadulterated form of contemporary art. His chemically-enhanced late-night YouTube search leads him to the unexpected: a music video by the Young Torture Killers, Delaware's answer to the Insane Clown Posse. Intrigued, he convinces his casual love interest, Bernadette, to join him in rural Delaware, where they document the band's performances in their parents' basement. Eager to inject his work with a touch of gritty realism, Nate ingratiates himself with the goth rappers, returning to Delaware multiple times to understand their lifestyle. Yet, as he dives deeper into their world, he realizes that the art world's influence has a persistent way of seeping into everything, including himself. This artistic odyssey explores the bitter truth: you can remove the artist from the art world, but you can never truly delete the art world from the artist.
