In the heart of Finland, nestled within a small village, Turo, a 25-year-old aspiring musician, finds his life trapped in a monotonous loop. His sole respite from the mundanity is being the lead vocalist of the amateur heavy metal band, Impaled Rektum. However, their dreams of grandeur are stifled as they find themselves in an ironical quagmire - 12 years of relentless practice but not a single gig to their credit. This quirky comedy takes a dramatic turn when a surprise visitor from Norway - a promoter for a colossal heavy metal music festival - steps into their lives. Seizing this golden opportunity, Turo and his motley crew decide to embark on a wild and audacious journey to transform their dreams into reality. It's a now or never situation, and they are ready to go all out - even if it means stealing a van, a corpse and recruiting a new drummer on the fly. Their daring escapade spirals into a chaotic blend of heavy metal, grave robbing, and surreal encounters with the Viking heaven. All while inadvertently sparking an armed conflict between Finland and Norway. Heavy Trip is a rollicking saga of an unknown band's unwavering determination and outrageous antics to make their mark in the world of heavy metal.
