In the shadowy confines of a shabby apartment, we find Wyatt, a jaded narcoleptic with journalistic ambitions. His dreams teeter on the brink of obliteration when he crosses paths with Fern, a mysterious girl inhabiting the cramped quarters of an '88 Toyota Tercel hatchback parked on his block. Fern carries the weight of her past, marked by the disappearance and presumed death of her father during her Montana childhood. A cryptic letter from the enigmatic Dr. Green shatters her world, revealing her father to be alive and hidden within the labyrinth of Los Angeles. Propelled by this revelation, Fern embarks on a mission to unearth her father, with Wyatt as her unlikely ally. Together, they navigate the city's forgotten corners in a quest for Fern's elusive father, their journey punctuated by a burgeoning, complex affection for one another. As their bond deepens, they are drawn into a web of intrigue and mystery, their lives intertwining in unexpected ways.
