Plot

B.G. Bruno, a wealthy singleton at the helm of a flourishing greeting-card enterprise in the heart of Scotland, is a gentleman of kindness, albeit shrouded in an air of staid respectability and austere decorum. When an American theatrical group descends upon Edinburgh with dreams of staging a musical, they find themselves stumbling over the hurdle of securing financial backing. Bruno's path intertwines with that of the show's charismatic leading ladies, and a befuddling misunderstanding leaves them under the impression that he is a newspaper journalist. Amid this comedic chaos, Bruno's heart becomes entangled with one of the women, and the reciprocation of this affection sees his demeanor blossom into a jovial friendliness, much to the astonishment of his staff. Through a medley of comic misadventures and humorous blunders, the plot pirouettes towards a joyful finale: a triumphant stage performance and the sweet taste of true love.
