Plot

Amid the volatile backdrop of 1934 Korea, under the oppressive shadow of Japanese occupation, rival martial arts academies wage a brutal, open war. When a fierce brawl sparks in the marketplace, three Chinese pupils refuse to stay silent witnessing the unjust assault on a lone fighter by a gang aligned with the invaders. Together, they drive the oppressors away, but their victory comes at a grave cost - their school demolished and they themselves, exiled. Undeterred, they return to their homeland, China, to sow the seeds of their own martial arts school. With hopes of fostering unity, they embark on goodwill tours to fellow academies, only to discover a chilling reality - their neighborhood is firmly under the Japanese thumb. The trio must now confront and conquer numerous kung fu battles, a relentless battle of wills and skill, in a desperate fight for peace. Navigating a maze of domination, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of justice, Hapkido paints a raw and riveting picture of human spirit and defiance, in an age where every punch thrown is a rebellion against tyranny. This film is not just a thrilling spectacle of martial arts but also an exploration of the indomitable will of its heroes to reclaim peace and freedom.
