Plot

In the heart of Los Angeles, real estate agent Peter and his wife Lizzie, a devoted private teacher, are trapped in the throes of a strained marriage. Their union is marred by their inability to conceive and the ever-mounting burden of financial woes. They find themselves in the office of Dr. Grayson, a marriage counselor, in a desperate bid to mend their fracturing relationship. Lizzie, often accompanied by her dog Joyce, spends her days teaching her solitary student, Justin, and confiding in her carefree friend, Andie. A twist of fate occurs when Andie, after a reckless one-night stand, finds herself pregnant. Shying away from the thought of abortion, she offers a lifeline to Lizzie and Peter - her unborn baby. Peter harbors reservations about the unconventional proposition, but they agree under one condition: Andie must live with them throughout her pregnancy. As if the household wasn't crowded enough, Peter's fragile brother, Casey, fresh out of rehab, joins the mix in search of familial support. With their home now a melting pot of clashing personalities and simmering tension, the question that lingers is whether their friendships and relationships can weather the storm and survive until the baby's arrival. In her debut masterpiece, Jessie McCormack crafts a candid comedy that serves as a poignant reminder of life's unpredictable twists and the importance of planning for the unexpected.
