Plot

In the labyrinth of life, do we ever truly attain our desires? This is the question that lingers in the life of Brian, a humble mattress salesman dwarfed by the material success of his well-to-do family. Amidst a sea of mattresses in a cavernous warehouse, Brian nurses a deep longing for fatherhood and embarks on a quest to adopt a baby from distant China. His life, however, is far from mundane, as he finds himself dodging the ominous advances of a man who seems homeless and dangerously obsessed with him. In this unlikely setting, Brian's life takes an intriguing turn when he crosses paths with Happy, an eccentric heiress who is as unpredictable as her name suggests. Drifting through life with no fixed purpose, Happy stumbles into Brian’s world, falling asleep on a mattress and waking up to a connection that surprises them both. The spark between them is immediate, yet Happy’s world is thrown into chaos when she discovers Brian’s plans for adoption, a revelation that leaves her physically ill. As their relationship deepens, Brian's desire for Happy to meet his family intensifies, even as he awaits a potentially life-altering call about the adoption. Will Happy, a woman who's accustomed to drifting through life without commitment, embrace this unconventional love and the prospects of an instant family? The film Gigantic (2008) explores the threads of love, family, and unexpected connections, weaving a tapestry of humor, quirkiness, and profound human connection.
