Plot

In the shadowy aftermath of the Balkan war, the Bosnian town of Tesanj grapples with its own ghosts. Landmines lurk like deadly secrets, corruption pulses through the veins of the town, and women vanish, swallowed into the abyss of human trafficking in Serbia. Yet, amidst this turmoil, a fragile peace persists. Zaim, the once revered police chief, is locked in a haunting dance with his past, tormented by visions of his dead son Adnan, whose body remains lost in the war's cruel wake. His remaining children, Faruk and Azra, can only watch as their father spirals deeper into despair. In a twist of fate, it's announced that President Clinton intends to pay Tesanj a visit, hoping to witness the seeds of harmony sprouting from the ashes of conflict. The town scrambles to stitch together a façade of democracy, hiding the prostitutes and trucking in Serbs to feign unity. The local children's choir swaps traditional tunes for "House of the Rising Sun", a poignant reflection of the town's struggle to rise from its own ruins. All the while, Faruk, driven by a desperate need for closure and peace, embarks on a mission to unravel the truth behind his brother Adnan's death. Yet, in a town where irony lurks in every corner, the question remains: can tranquillity truly be achieved in a place so scarred by its past? As Tesanj prepares for its moment in the global spotlight, the narrative of Fuse unravels, exposing the raw reality beneath the rehearsed harmony and the heart-wrenching struggle for redemption and resolution.
