Plot

When the disfigured body of Anita, the wife of the police commissioner, is discovered in a bathtub, Lieutenant Braque launches an unyielding manhunt to apprehend the commissioner. However, as the investigation unfolds, the reality proves more intricate than initial appearances suggest. Anita's diary, laced with startling revelations, guides the investigators to an unresolved hit-and-run case that seems to be the cold-blooded killer's formative event. Valerie, the sole survivor of the hit-and-run, has been tormented by grief over her sister's untimely death in the supposed "accident." Freshly discharged from a mental institution where she battled post-traumatic stress, she finds herself thrust into the glaring spotlight of suspicion for Anita's murder. Yet as the list of witnesses begins to eerily resemble the obituary column, Braque is compelled to cast a discerning eye on his own department. Detective Phil Randall was present on the fateful night of the hit-and-run. Believing he had safeguarded himself and Anita by smoothing over any loose ends, he now faces the grim reality of his past unraveling. Braque's relentless inquiries present challenges Phil isn't prepared to answer. When his alibi becomes the Phantom Killer's latest casualty, Phil must track down Valerie to quell the mounting suspicions. Caught in a perilous race against time, Lieutenant Braque strives to crack the case before Phil zeroes in on his next victim. This high-stakes chase propels Valerie and Phil into the claustrophobic confines of an underground bunker. Trapped, two killers come face-to-face, the harsh truth of their identities laid bare. The chilling question remains: Who will emerge alive, and who is the true Phantom Killer?
