Frost (2003)

When the disfigured body of Anita, the wife of the police commissioner, is discovered in a bathtub, Lieutenant Braque launches an unyielding manhunt to apprehend the commissioner. However, as the investigation unfolds, the reality proves more intricate than initial appearances suggest. Anita's diary, laced with startling revelations, guides the investigators to an unresolved hit-and-run case that seems to be the cold-blooded killer's formative event. Valerie, the sole survivor of the hit-and-run, has been tormented by grief over her sister's untimely death in the supposed "accident." Freshly discharged from a mental institution where she battled post-traumatic stress, she finds herself thrust into the glaring spotlight of suspicion for Anita's murder.
